The Ocean Race - Spectator Boats

The 2022/23 Ocean Race is stopping over at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town this February for the 6^th time in it’s 14^th edition; giving us all a taste of the thrills and adventures the yachts experience on the high seas. It includes the longest Southern Ocean crossing in the event’s 50-year history, seeing sailors racing an incredible 12,750 nautical mile marathon between Cape Town to Itajaí in Brazil; a phenomenal feat of endurance and skill. The V&A Waterfront is promoting Ocean sustainability as its core theme, with the Ocean Race acting as a catalyst for the protection and restoration of our seas.

Waterfront Charters will be hosting Spectator Boat cruises on the 26^th February when the Ocean Race resumes it’s the perfect way to get as close as possible to the action. The cruise will be for 2-hours.

You can also watch them in action on the 24^th February as they participate in the In the Port race; an exciting short-course event in Table Bay. This is a final shakedown for their long haul, and spectators can watch the expertise of these phenomenal crews.
