Shylo started out on vinyl at a little club in Long Street called 96 Degrees in the year 2000, and her popularity quickly grew through her energy, her music and being one of the first female DJ’s to perform regularly in the Mother City.
That popularity saw her being sought after to DJ in other Provinces – Port Elizabeth and East London crowds particularly loved her style – then a move to London in the year 2003 gave her the opportunity to showcase her talents on an international platform. A trip to the party island of Ibiza in 2006 saw her playing alongside the cream of the worlds DJ crop at Kanya Bar, Es Paradis and Space’s upstairs floor.
Upon her return from the UK, she became a resident for the infamous club Hauswork in an all-female line up, playing to packed-out dance floors at the legendary Chukka Churri. She held residencies at The Grand, Honey Cream, Mondiall, Harald’s Bar & Terrace and the Radisson Red Rooftop Bar: all thriving, popular venues that took to her music with great enthusiasm.
Shylo’s expertise lies with Deep and Organic House and Melodic and Progressive House and Techno. She is just as capable to perform a Deep Organic House sundowner set as she is a driving energy-filled Melodic Techno set. Shylo, a down to earth and versatile DJ, has a passion for what she does which shines through in her professionalism and style behind the DJ booth. She has the ability to read the crowd to build a set to suit each and every occasion.a
